The national take-back network for electricals, and the correct answer to the small appliances Amsterdam's kerbside collection refuses outright.

Why use it

Two legal rights sit behind this, and no municipal page joins them to the kerbside refusal. Buy a similar new appliance and the shop must take the old one back without charge. And any shop over 400 square metres must accept appliances under 25 centimetres with nothing bought at all. Shops are explicitly not allowed to charge for either. Thousands of drop-off points, no booking, and the finder on the Wecycle site maps the nearest.

    Grote apparaten worden vaak handmatig gedemonteerd. Batterijen en accu's in apparaten worden op een loopband handmatig verwijderd voordat deze apparaten de shredder in gaan.

    Met een magneet wordt al het ijzer uit de apparaten gehaald. Vervolgens halen verschillende machines met trillingen en sensoren stapsgewijs zoveel mogelijk grondstoffen uit de afvalstroom, zoals aluminium, roestvrij staal en kunststof, maar ook waardevolle grondstoffen zoals goud, zilver en palladium.
