COMLURB collects household rubble and unwanted furniture, entulho and bens inservíveis, free, once booked on 1746. The rules on how much and where to leave it are strict, and getting the second one wrong can earn you a fine.

Right for you if

Why use it

Free, and it covers both small-works debris and unwanted household goods, though never in the same request, which is the first rule people trip over. Book on 1746, by WhatsApp on 3460-1746, or through the app, and expect collection within ten working days. You must then wait twelve days from one collection before booking another. The quantities are capped and specific: entulho in plastic bags of up to 20 litres, maximum 150 bags, and no raffia or feed sacks; branches tied in bundles up to 1.5 metres, maximum 12; up to 150 whole tiles or bricks. For unwanted goods it is six items per household, dropping to two for anything heavy, a fridge, freezer, sofa, safe or wardrobe. Beds and wardrobes have to be dismantled and tied, and anything sharp wrapped in cardboard with the collector warned.
