Puntos Limpios Móviles y de Proximidad

Compartmented trucks that park in every district on set days, plus small permanent points inside sports centres and libraries, for the awkward small things, including clothes and shoes.

Right for you if

  • It is small, awkward and slightly hazardous, a bulb, a battery, half a tin of paint, a bag of old clothes.
  • It has to cost nothing.
  • You can get it there under your own steam.
  • You want to turn up without booking.

Look elsewhere if

  • You have no way of getting it there.
  • It is business waste.
  • It is more than a household quantity.

Opening hours
Mobile trucks park at fixed district stops on fixed days, in roughly 90-minute slots between 07:00 and 21:00. Proximity points keep the hours of the building that hosts them.

Something wrong here?

Why use it

This is where the small awkward things go without a trip to one of the sixteen big sites. The mobile trucks take cooking and motor oil (5 litres), aerosols (5), batteries, toner and ink cartridges (4), low-energy bulbs and tubes (3), X-rays (50), paint and solvents (5 kg), a small appliance, CDs and tapes (20), syringes (30), a bicycle tyre, metal kitchenware up to 40 cm, and used clothes and shoes, which the smaller proximity points do NOT take. What none of them accept: glass, paper, biowaste, wood, bulky items, large appliances, medicines, mercury, or anything radioactive, explosive or flammable. In high summer, from 15 June to 31 August, the 14:30 to 16:30 slots are dropped.

Where your things go

A named destination is worth more than a stated intention, and both are worth more than silence. This is the row to read before you book: if your item's row is empty, ask them on the phone and tell us what they say.

Not documented yet. This operator has not published what happens to each kind of item, and we have not been able to establish it from anywhere else. That is the gap, stated rather than hidden. If you ask them, tell us what they say.

Does it actually work

The part no company website tells you. Some of this comes from our checks, some from readers who used the service, and where nobody has told us yet, it says so.

This describes the route the item takes, as the operator states it. We do not claim a recovery rate we have not seen evidence for.

What readers told us

How long you waited, what they refused, whether anyone picked up the phone. Those are the three facts no website publishes and the ones the next reader needs.
